Radio broadcast is one of the quickest and easiest means of communication, most appropriate in terms of Nepal since its mountainous terrain allows little accessibility to other media forms. So, without a doubt, Radio is the single-most suitable means of communication to spread the Word.

For the last 50 years the people have been praying for a Radio ministry in Nepal but it was impossible due to the then regime. The birth of Good News FM 105.1 in 2007 may be interpreted as a furtherance of the widening of scope of mass communication within Nepali Christians and beyond. Good News FM 105.1, managed by efficient Nepali Christian leaders, is registered under Nepal Government with a view to promote, advocate and spread the Word of God through a Christian mass media.  The Radio station is located in Anamnagar-32, Kathmandu.

The first regular transmission was inaugurated on 25th December 2007 after a brief test broadcast.  Presently, one can listen to Good News FM 105.1 from any part of the world by logging on to www.goodnewsfm.com.np . Good News' primary objective is to serve the Lord and the listeners. One which began with only a few hours of test transmission has now become a household name in the Kathmandu valley and the entire country. The theme of the channel is Voice of the Lord. Programming is extensive, precise and up to the mark although Good News FM 105.1 is still in its early phase.

Some programs encourage listeners' involvement through SMS, live telephone conversations and several live programs. As a result, this also promotes socialization. In addition, Good News FM 105.1 is also a platform for upcoming Christian talent. It provides ample space for airplay of songs and other talent. Good News FM 105.1 listenership and popularity has increased remarkably. There is widespread talk in the city that early morning Good News FM block of programs are the most popular. This encourages us to prepare better and create more listener-friendly programs. Most households and vehicle drivers have become familiar with Good News FM 105.1. Listenership is increasing on a daily basis. These people have happily accepted Good News FM 105.1 and are blessed with the sermons and other programs broadcast through the FM.

Good News FM 105.1 is the first Christian Radio and probably the first Christian Community broadcasting station in South Asia. It is also a matter of pride that Good News FM 105.1 is the only Christian FM in the country with a 12 hour a day airtime (6:00am to 12:00 noon and 4pm to 10:00pm). We are praying for resources and material to extend the programs to at least 16 hours a day in the near future. The government has already approved 19 hours airplay (5:00am to 12:00 midnight).
